In the news, President Barack Obama
pushed infrastructure spending in his
State of the Union address, linking it to
the country's economic future. "We will
put more Americans to work repairing
crumbling roads and bridges. We will make sure this is fully paid for, attract private investment, and pick projects based on what's best for the economy," Obama said. The president plans to use half of the funds the U.S. will save from drawing down wars in the Middle East for high-speed rail and infrastructure repairs and issue an executive order that would minimize regulations that delay construction projects.
