PRESIDENT'S SPECIAL MESSAGE
Dear Fellow Members,
It was great to see so many of you at our Annual Steak Fry in August. It was an excellent meeting for our friends and family at the Rock Garden inside the Los Angeles Police Academy. The barbeque was excellent along with the weather, scenery and company. We hope to see all of our members at our next Annual Steak Fry. Pictures of the Steak Fry can be viewed on our website www.itesocal.org under the tab for photos. I would like to thank Irina Constantinescu for being such an excellent webmaster. She has really updated our website and added more features. I would also like to thank our Secretary/Treasurer, Andrew Maximous, for organizing our Steak Fry event and raffle for Knotts Berry Farm tickets. I would also like to thank our Sponsorship Coordinator, Julia Wu, for acquiring three sponsors for the Steak Fry. We would like to thank Kimley-Horn for keeping their tradition and sponsoring our annual barbeque. We would also like to thank South Coast Lighting and our beverage sponsor, Spot Devices.
I would also like to congratulate two of our members for winning ITE positions. Our ITE Southern California Section, Legislative Analyst, Walter Okitsu won his bid for the Western District Secretary/Treasurer position. Another one of our Southern California Section members, Rock Miller, won his bid for International Vice President. Congratulations to both of you!
We have a whole new fiscal year ahead of us. After a double dip recession, hopefully the economy will head in the right direction. I sincerely hope that all of us will have projects to work on and stay employed. If however, you are looking for work, we are now posting our members resumes on our website under the tab Professional Development.
Our next meeting will be September 15th, at Monterey Hill Restaurant will feature Assistant General Manager of the City of Los Angeles Department of Transportation, John Fisher. He will be speaking on ATSAC, 25 years later. We look forward to hearing his presentation.
